It seems like Ben Affleck’s time as the caped crusader has officially come to an end as Warner Bros. Pictures have confirmed that the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman will no longer be played by Ben Affleck.
Affleck has worn the mask as Batman in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “ Justice League,” respectively. Warner Bros. has now put director Matt Reeves, pencilled in to direct ‘The Batman‘ in charge of finding a new actor for the role. The Batman is set for a June 2021 theatrical release.
According to Deadline, Affleck who worked hard on “The Batman” script was well aware “he wasn’t the right one for this particular version” as Reeves was planning on “The Batman” being the first of a new trilogy of movies centred around a younger version of Batman/Bruce Wayne.
