The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) held the 2020 edition of its awards. Some of the biggest black entertainers were in attendance, including Wizkid and Beyonce.

Nigerian singer Wizkid who bagged a nomination based on his contribution to Beyonce’s ‘Brown Skin Girl‘ in the ‘Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration‘ was the first Nigerian singer to ever be nominated.
The nomination eventually became a win for the Starboy as ‘Brown Skin Girl’ won that category. The record had Beyonce, Wizkid, Saint Jhn and Blue Ivy on it. This also made Wizkid the first Nigerian singer to win the award. He shared the news via his Instagram story.
Beyonce who bagged 8 nominations at the recent NAACP Image Awards won in 6 categories she was nominated in.
