“Tie a Cherry” is the title track from CL’s debut studio album. The song’s title was revealed on October 5, alongside the rest of the tracklist.

On October 15, 3 days before the album release date, it was revealed that the song would be promoted as the albums title track, when a teaser for the MV was released, alongside a snippet of the songs instrumental.

On the following days, until the album was released, CL posted 3 teaser photos for the song with the emojis “🥨🍒”

The song’s music video was released alongside the album, on October 20, 2021.
