Philip Trimnell; The MD/CEO of the Philip Trimnell Group of Companies is a dominant force in photography and television production in Nigeria. He attended the prestigious St. Gregory’s College between 1970 and 1975. Mr. Trimnel later earned a BSc. Degree in economics at the University of Ibadan, before enrolling for a second degree in photography at the Albert Einstein University of Maryland, USA. In 1987, at a time when most Nigerians were seeking greener pastures abroad, he returned to Nigeria to establish a photography company.
His proficiency earned him the opportunity to work for foremost blue-chip companies and conglomerates like; Nestle Nigeria Plc, PZ Industries, Unilever Plc, State and Federal Government institutions.
Philip Trimnell also directed and produced musical hit videos for Nigerian mavericks and song divas like Majek Fashek, Onyekachukwu Onwenu, The Mandators, Mike Okiri, and several others. The entertainment programme, Music Africa, a pivotal Music TV programme currently running on STV Network with over 20 years of airing is also his brainchild. He was one of the pioneers in Music and video production in Nigeria.
He has received several awards during his time in the industry. In 2006, he received the Hall of Fame award at The Hip Hop World Awards, and in 2012 he was inducted into The NMVA hall of fame.
