1. Kizz Daniel & Tekno – Buga

Buga is hands down the most significant record of May. The pop single featuring Kizz and Tekno was released on 3 May 2022. The song gained a lot of recognition even from Nigerians in the diaspora. It is the ultimate party song as it can be played on any occasion.

2. Burna Boy – Last Last

Breakups are complicated, and it takes a genius to turn his breakup story into a national anthem. Burna Boy released this dong following his split with rapper Stefflon Don, and he had us jamming and singing about his breakup like our lives depend on it. Like I said, an absolute genius.

3. DJ Spinall & Asake – Palazzo

Ololade mi Asake as he is popularly referred to is the year’s biggest breakout star. With songs like ‘Omo ope’ and ‘Sungba’ off his ‘Ololade Asake EP,’ the youngster is topping the charts. Palazzo is another big tune that dropped this May to our listening pleasures, and we definitely love it.

4. Mavins – Overdose

Legendary music producer Don Jazzy returned to the studio to drop this banger titled Overdose. Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Crayon, Magixx and Boy Spyce worked together to create a Mavin all-star song, and we are here for it.

5. Davido – Stand Strong ft Sunday Service Choir

Stand strong was an experimental song featuring the beautiful voices of the members of the Sunday service choir. In this song, Davido encourages everyone to be strong and persevere despite how challenging life might be.
