Aremmic, the gospel artist making waves in the Nigerian music scene, is no stranger to the deep-rooted connection between faith and melody. Hailing from Osun State and raised in a Christian household in Kaduna, his musical journey began with the steady beats of conga drums under the watchful eye of his choir director father.
From these humble beginnings, Aremmic’s love for music grew into a versatile passion for both voice and instrumentation, leading him on a path toward gospel artistry.
“My father was my first teacher,” Aremmic recalls fondly. “Growing up in the church, surrounded by music, it felt like every note was a part of me. I didn’t just listen to music; I felt it.”
His life took a pivotal turn when he relocated to Ibadan as a teenager. There, at Thomas Adewumi College, Aremmic’s vocal abilities were first recognized. Encouraged to hone his unique voice, it wasn’t long before singing became his primary form of expression. “That time in Ibadan was crucial. It was the first time people told me I had a voice that could move others. It made me want to sing even more,” he said.
During his years at Covenant University from 2009 to 2014, Aremmic continued to nurture his gift as part of the university choir. Surrounded by fellow musicians and mentors, he sharpened his skills, leading to the inevitable decision to pursue music professionally after graduation. “I knew music was my calling, but those years at Covenant University confirmed it. Singing in the choir wasn’t just a hobby—it was something I needed to do for the rest of my life,” he shared.
After university, Aremmic’s music career took flight, becoming a backup vocalist for renowned gospel artists such as Roland Ricketts & Sought Out and Freke Umoh. These experiences solidified his presence in the gospel music world, shaping the performer he is today. “Singing alongside such incredible artists was a blessing. It taught me so much about dedication and staying true to my sound.”
Beyond his life on stage, Aremmic’s personal life is a harmonious balance of family and music. He is happily married to Lara Myra Ajetomobi, and together they share a beautiful daughter. “My family is my anchor,” Aremmic explains. “No matter where my music takes me, I always come back to the love and support of my wife and daughter. They are my greatest joy.”
Known for his soul-stirring melodies, Aremmic’s music resonates with a growing fan base who admire the powerful blend of worship and emotional depth in his performances.
His album Overflow, a collaborative effort with Joy Adejo and Gathered Worship, has been praised for its spiritually uplifting message, while his other releases, including Raise A Sound and The Best, have become anthems of faith and love for listeners.
“Each song is a reflection of my faith. I want people to feel uplifted, to know that no matter what they’re going through, there’s a higher power watching over them,” Aremmic shares.
With his roots firmly planted in gospel music, Aremmic continues to grow as an artist, embodying the depth of his faith through music. As his fan base expands, so does his influence, as he inspires others to find hope and grace in the melodies of worship.
