At Monday night’s Webby Awards, which honor excellence on the internet, Kanye West was faced with a most challenging predicament. Per the ceremony’s official rules, winners must limit their acceptance speeches to five words, something that seems practically impossible for the typically verbose ‘Ye. (We all remember his Video Vanguard speech at last year’s VMAs, right?)

Much to his credit, though, Kanye gamely came through and delivered the understatement of the century: “I can’t stand short speeches.”
