Following up her breakout single “Munch (Feelin’ U),” “Bikini Bottom” sees Ice Spice rapping about her lifestyle worth of her new-found fame, partying and expensive fashion. The title of the track is named after the Bikini Bottom city, the main setting used in the show SpongeBob SquarePants.
On October 11, 2022, Ice Spice took to Instagram previewing the first thirty seconds of the song. That same day, Ice Spice took to Twitter talking about the song, stating:

On October 25, 2022, Ice Spice took to Instagram revealing the song’s release date (October 28) and cover art.
