Jazz Cartier Basement

Jazz Cartier Basement

Toronto’s Jazz Cartier exploded onto the scene with the release of Marauding In Paradise. The project emerged as a refreshing dose of what was to come out of the 6ix following the breakout moments of artists like Drake, Tory Lanez, and The Weeknd.

It’s been roughly two years since the release of Jazz’s last project, Fleurever. He continued to release new singles ever since then and this year, we received a few bangers from him. Last month, he unleashed “Disclosure” which he is now following up on with “Basement.” Jazz Cartier details the playboy lifestyle over 808s and auto-tuned harmonies for a record that would surely go off during any of his live performances.

Lyrics

[Intro]
Yeah, yeah
Mmm
Hey, I’m really rich

[Pre-Chorus]
Speed and I crash, life is a crash course, yeah
Foot on the gas, go where the gang go
I ain’t a bad guy, they call me the asshole
I’m so bad, so nobody had hope

[Chorus]
‘Cause I come from the basement
Don’t wanna talk if your talk doesn’t make sense
And I beat my cases, I don’t want relation
It ain’t ever make sense
Come from the basement
Don’t wanna talk if your talk doesn’t make sense
Yeah, shawty gave me face lift, I don’t want relation
It ain’t ever make sense

[Verse]
Shame, I can do this all day [?]
Truth is, can’t break us, change up, no chaser
Stay strong, no razor, on the clock like favor
Transform like Frieza, I don’t need new freezer
Put in time, I heat up, street cred, no feature
Bitches ain’t ’bout that life, wanna try be like Mike
I’m on sunset light and I speed red lights

[Pre-Chorus]
Speed and I crash, life is a crash course, yeah
Foot on the gas, go where the gang go
I ain’t a bad guy, they call me the asshole
I’m so bad, so nobody had hope (Cuzzi relax)
What you mean? In that two-seat with my queen
What you mean? And she on fleek, we can fly by any means
I got two twins, trick or treat (Halloween)
I need everything

[Chorus]
‘Cause I come from the basement
Don’t wanna talk if your talk doesn’t make sense
And I beat my cases, I don’t want relation
It ain’t ever make sense
Come from the basement
Don’t wanna talk if your talk doesn’t make sense
Yeah, shawty gave me face lift, I don’t want relation
It ain’t ever make sense

[Outro]
What you, what you, what you, what you mean?
In that two-seat with my queen
What you mean, what you mean?
Come from the basement
