Pressa Blame Me

Pressa Blame Me

Pressa is emerging as the leader of a new generation of artists in Toronto. Though we’ve witnessed plenty of rappers bubble in America, Pressa’s remained a fixture in the clubs as he’s been in the blogs. The rapper is fresh off of the release of the deluxe edition of 2020’s Gardner Express but it appears that he’s keeping the momentum high with even more new music. Just weeks after he teamed up with Eva Shaw and Thouxanbanfauni on “EASTERISLAND, he’s come through with his latest solo offering, “Blame Me.” On the new single, Pressa expands his sonic palette with softer flows and catchier melodies. Press reflects on his come-up in the game, and the sacrifices he’s made to get to where he’s at today.

Lyrics

[Intro]
(Realest)

[Chorus]
Ooh, I been wonderin’ why these niggas, why they hatin’, why they change on me
Ooh, I put everybody on, but when they lost, they put the blame on me
Lately, I’ve been trippin’, I ain’t been feelin’ like myself, I was in positions that I shouldn’t have played a part in
I gave them all my heart and they left me so scarred, ooh, they crossed me and you helped them play a part in it

[Verse 1]
See, they left me out in the cold, want me to freeze
How many people that I helped out? You wouldn’t even believe
I paid commissaries, I even paid lawyer fees
I turned around, look up, ain’t nobody help me when I was in need
They gave me bail, shoutout to my granny
Now I’m in palm trees in Miami
Killers on go now, they understand me
You want a Perc’, call me, I have it
I put the lil’ homies in the car and tell ’em to go
Went to school with niggas that I warred
They know I’m big killer, that’s for sure
I ain’t never pressed about no ho, I ain’t never pressed about no bitch
I was down bad with all of my dogs and then I came up, but still ain’t switch
They tryna put me in the category with everybody else
I gave my last to so many niggas that watched me starve and still ain’t help

[Verse 2]
You don’t know how it feel to be locked down and your niggas ain’t answer calls
You ain’t never spend a dollar on a lawyer, but you had the nerve to blow it in the mall
He don’t know how it feel to lose it all
We was all dogs, out here servin’ dog
Out here buyin’ ounces of hard
When I was tryna put you on game of raw
I remember goin’ out to go see the plug, brought you on your first trip
They know Pressa’s trap house boomin’, me and crodie split down the brick
I ain’t never upped the price, that was it
We goin’ halves even on a hit
You is my brother, just a different mother, go in my closet, get you a fit
Slept in the same bed, same covers
Nothin’ to eat at night, we would suffer
Took L’s to a point where we was broke, sittin’ and plottin’ how we gon’ recover
Niggas laughed at us, they thought it was a joke
But Pressa, he comin’ from 360
But lately, I feel like I can’t even trust you, think I liked it better when we was broke
