The Weeknd Sacrifice

“Sacrifice” serves as the second single from The Weeknd’s fifth studio album, Dawn FM. Co-produced by Swedish House Mafia, among others, the song marks the second collaboration between Abel and the trio, following “Moth to a Flame” back in October 2021.

Along with an electro-funk guitar loop accompanied by ‘80s sounds, the track includes samples of “I Want To Thank You” by Alicia Myers, and “I’ll Do Anything For You” by Denroy Morgan.

The Weeknd first previewed the track in a short snippet at the end of the “Take My Breath” music video, on August 6, 2021. Additionally, the accompanying music video—directed by CLIQUA—finds the singer-songwriter in the midst of a surreal dance floor ritual.
