In her Netflix documentary film Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, the singer candidly explains how traumatic her pregnancy was as she developed toxaemia and preeclampsia and in the womb.
The 37-year-old was forced to have an emergency cesarean in 2017 to prevent anything happening to Rumi and Sir, now 22 months old.
Bey admitted that the twins were unplanned and her “body went through more than I knew it could.”
In the film she explained: “I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth. I had an extremely difficult pregnancy.
“I had high blood pressure, I developed toxaemia, preeclampsia and in the womb, one of my babies heartbeats paused a few times so I had to get an emergency C-section.”
Filmed over the course of eight months in the lead-up to the iconic Coachella performances in April 2018, Bey charts her transformation from post-pregnancy.
