Celine Dion paid an emotional tribute to her late husband René Angélil as she joined her three children onstage to mark the end of her 16-year Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Saturday evening.
Following her final performance, the award-winning singer, 51, held hands with sons René-Charles, 18, Nelson and Eddy, eight, as she gazed adoringly at a nostalgic image of musical producer René, who tragically passed away in January 2016 after a battle with throat cancer at 73.
Think Twice songstress Celine showcased her vocal prowess to a sold-out crowd as her critically-acclaimed run came to an end, after captivating more than 4.5 million fans with 1,141 gigs for nearly two decades at the entertainment venue.
The powerhouse put on a typically moving show as she performed a series of her chart-topping hits, as well as her new song Flying on My Own from her upcoming album, Courage, due for release in November.
Commanding attention for her special gig, Celine dazzled in a gold shimmery gown, before slipping into a daringly plunging semi-sheer ensemble.
She enthused: ‘I’m both proud and humbled by what we’ve accomplished at the Colosseum since we began sixteen years ago when René and I first shared this dream.
‘This entire experience has been a huge part of my show business career…one that I will cherish forever. I have so many people to thank, but the most important ‘thank you’ goes to my fans, who gave us the opportunity to do what we love.’
