GIST: 18 Years old Osuemhe Ugonoh Wins Miss Africa Ireland

Osuemhe Ugonoh 18, who’s a student in the Republic of Ireland emerged the winner of the 13th edition of the esteemed Miss Africa Ireland beauty pageant which took place last Friday, November 30, 2012 at The Gresham Hotel in Dublin. The 1st and 2nd runners-up were Catriona Nyankabiri of Zimbabwe and Grace Might from Cameroon.

The pretty young woman is a student of Athlone Institute of Technology studying Health Science & Nutrition. Miss Ugonoh walked tall to beat other stunning and intelligent contestants from other African countries such as Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Cameroon to name a few.

Warmly referred to as ‘Osi’ her by friends & family, the beautiful teenager will be campaigning what she think is one of the causes of depression amongst children in her project entitled ‘Child Abuse’.
In her winning speech, Osuemhe told National Enquirer that she will be working with the organisers of the beauty pageant to stage an official visit to meet Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the governor of Edo State where she hails from. Miss Ugonoh described as Governor Oshomole as political role model whose infrastructural revolution is left to be beaten in Africa.

The prestigious event was attended by well-known members of the Irish community, amongst who were Irish Minister of Trade & Foreign Affairs, Mr. Joe Costello and wife, Emer, a Member of European Parliament (MEP) for Dublin, H.E Mr. Azwindini Jeremiah and Dingaan Ndou, Counsellor Bill Tormey.

The yearly Miss Africa Ireland is a beauty & fashion event put together by Tina Tinuke Akinola-Jinad of Tritees Promotions to highlight and celebrate the unique fashion, beauty and diversity of cultures of African people in Ireland.
