To put this all in perspective, 25 beat the previous first-week sales record once held by NSYNC’s No Strings Attached (it sold 2.42 million in its first week in March 2000). In addition, Adele’s third project is already the biggest selling album of 2015.
If the LP’s selling streak continues right through the holiday season, Adele could easily out-sell her last album, 21. That collection spent 24 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on theBillboard 200 and sold 11.2 million copies.
Next up for Adele is her NBC concert special, Adele: Live in New York City, which will air on Dec. 14.
