Benin City’s own Kan Did is fast becoming a key player in the Afro music scene, driven by a lifelong passion that began when he was just 12. Known offstage as Ifeanyi Isaac Okoye, Kan Did’s early experiences in a trio group and intense studio sessions shaped his unique and diverse musical style.
Kan Did’s musical journey was fueled by a profound love for the art that he discovered on the streets of Benin City. “I spent my days in a trio group, soaking in the essence of music and honing my craft in the studio,” he reminisces.

Kan Did’s songwriting process is deeply personal and inspired. “Music to me is inspirational,” he reveals. “Sometimes, the music flows without the need for pen and paper. Looking ahead, Kan Did’s aspirations are clear: “I aim create music that stands the test of time, like the legends who have inspired me—Bob Marley, Fela, and others,” he shares. His long-term goal is not just to be relevant but to craft music that transcends borders and cultures, leaving a lasting impact on listeners worldwide.
