Category Entertainment, Gist & Gossip

ZeeAfrica Initiative, Organizers of Gidi Youths Awards is seeking for outstanding individuals that would make up this year’s nominees. The award which started last year would hold its sophomore edition this December. ZeeAfrica Initiative is a new platform whose objective is to develop creative and innovative products and programs that would enshrine African values and ideals into the youths. It would channel the “rebirth” of Africa majorly through new media solutions and creative technology.

We are thus using this medium to invite members of the online community and the general public to nominate outstanding achievers in the various listed categories. The online nomination form would only be available till the 12th of November 2013 and the final nominees would be released soon after that.

This year’s event is putting more concentration on technology, education and new media as it believes that this is the new focus of the African youths and the engine through which the youths can drive the future of Africa. The future of any society depends on the education, quality, values and skills of its youth. This makes it imperative that a sense of direction be provided to the youth so as to enable us to take over the realm of affairs in future with relative ease.

GYA 2013 is the opportunity for people doing extra-ordinary things and those affecting the life of the individuals in the society to be rewarded.

We salute the courage, wisdom and tenacity of the African youths that has continued to drive the development of Africa despite the enormous challenges being faced on the continent. The hope of a better continent can only stand on the shoulders of young and inspired Africans who are determined to change and elevate our Africa to stand shoulder to shoulder with others in the world.
