The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has passed judgment in favour of singer Runtown restraining his embattled record label, Eric Many from interfering in his affairs, after seven months of legal battle.
Eric Many had previously filed a lawsuit against Runtown restraining him from recording new music or performing at events.
However, in the judgment dated January 23, and delivered by the lead judge, Justice O.A Musa, Runtown’s former record label, Eric Many was restrained from interfering in the singer’s affairs.
The judge held that the restraining order placed on Runtown from performing be immediately suspended while Eric Many was also restrained from enforcing the suspended orders of the court.
The singer and his former record label have been enmeshed in a legal tussle ever since his contract expired.
It was rumoured towards the end of 2018 that the singer was banned from entering the United States of America.
The General Manager of his erstwhile record label, Johnson Adumike, in a video that went viral, alleged that the singer and his brother secured a US visa through the label but the latter refused to come back, thus overstaying in the United States illegally on an expired visa.
Runtown reacted vehemently to the news as he described it as fake.
