“Yes! #TopNaijaMusicAwards 2014 is giving out $100 for a simple writing exercise. We want emerging acts and young Nigerians in general to share their opinions on “MUSIC AS A TOOL FOR SOLVING SOCIAL VICES”. The motive for bringing up this topic is to open a big opportunity in the music industry where artistes will begin to produce songs that will correct bad attitudes, songs that will teach people the correct ways of doing things, songs that will change the society.
The #TopNaijaMusicAwards (Emerging Acts Edition) is spearheading the mission to use music as a tool for solving social vices. Enough of the ‘baby baby baby’ or ‘lovy lovy lovy’ lyrics in our songs. The legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti is remembered today because his songs had great impacts in the society. If we have more acts who do songs that will change the society, indeed the society will change for good because music is now part of human existence
HOW TO PARTICIPATE.
(i) You should not be more than 30years of age
(2) Write a short essay on the topic “MUSIC AS A TOOL FOR SOLVING SOCIAL VICES” of not more than 500 words.

WINNINGS
One contestant will win the ultimate price of $100 cash, and the winning article will be published on over 200 blogs across Africa and the most widely read newspaper in Nigeria, Punch Newspaper. This will invariably make the winner a Celebrity of sort. 2nd to 4th price winners will be given consolation prizes.
