The just concluded event which started on Friday June 20, 2014 with a medical outreach to the citizens of the community. The nurses were conducting series of medical tests such as BP, HIV, BLOOD SUGAR…etc and were being counciled by the doctor of which those with issues were given proper medical medications by the doctors. The citizens of the community were very happy and grateful because those of them with ailments knew their health status and were given free medication. The well trained medical personnels were from both The General Hospital, Kabba and Eyifemi Clinic, Kabba. The exercise was conducted by an NGO, Ripples in the person of Mrs Anne Phillips whose focus is Empowering African Women. The was a huge turnout by the people of the community for the MOT.

On Saturday which was the D day of the OGIDI Event was a really huge one it was graced by dignitaries around the world. The event which  started by 10:00am with an opening prayed thereafter an opening performance by a cultural troupe. After the introduction of dignitaries, they had cultural displays to the OLOGIDI, HRH Oba (Alh.) Rabiu Oladimeji, The Ologidi of Ogidi  by different amazing groups from the community and other communities. These presentations were truly awesome. Some of the displays were from the Olokoro and Olu-otun, men, women, farmers, hunters…. etc Also we had the masquerades who came out to grace the event, of which were “Agere masqurade, Olode, Agbo” cultural displays were also presented by the Ebira community, Nike Art Gallery Troupe, Egbe Gbarufu Ilare-ogidi group etc. The occation was graced by The Representatives of The Etsu of Nupe, Prof. Eyitayo Lambo (Fm r. Minister of Health) who was the Chairman of the occasion), HRH Oba (Dr.) Arc. Aderemi Adedapo (Alayemore of Ido-osun), Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf (Member House of Reps), Hon.Dino Melaye (Fmr. Mem. House of Reps), Mallam Mohammed Haruna (Fmr MD, NAN), Dr Abdulahi Muku (Dir. Gen. National Gallery of Art), Chief Mrs Nike Okundaye (Yeyeoba of Ogidiland, Nike Art Gallery, Lagos) who was the Mother of The Day was with His Excellency, Mr Michael Arion, the Ambassador and head of delegation of the European Union. Her daughter Sheyi, Chief Femi Ajisafe (General Manager, Research Planning & Environmet, National Inland Waterways Authority), Miss Simisola Banjo (Sisi Oge 2014) among others

After the cultural presentation which included the presentation of the new yam to the Ologidi by Chief Mrs Nike Okundaye (Yeyeoba of Ogidiland), it was followed by a fund raising for the development of the community of which Chief Femi Ajisafe (General Manager,Research Planning & Environmet, National Inland waterways Authority) was the Chief luncher. There were huge donations by the dignitaries present in the occation Of which APC Senetorial Candidate Hon. Dino Melaye (Fmr. Mem. House of Reps) donated generously the sum of N1million to the community. After the donations, a keynote address was delivered by Mallam Mohammed Haruna (Fmr MD, NAN) who emphasized that the key success of a community is education, he also Praised them for the projects which have been completed in the community; Water project, Cottage Hospital etc. He said that the society should invest more in the basic education of the community which is the Primary and Secondary education. After which there was Investiture of new chiefs of which Hon. Chief Omolade Ibikunle was a beneficiary. After that, there was a presentation of gifts from the different delegates to the community which led to the cutting of the Ogidi Cake by the the Representative of The Etsu of Nupe, The Ologidi Of Ogidilaand and other dignitaries which crowned the close of the event.
