We think that food is the way to anyone’s heart, so we recommend you try one of these delicious aphrodisiacs and get yourselves in the mood for love…
Chillies
Hot chillies contain a chemical called capsaicin which increases circulation and stimulates nerve endings meaning that you’ll be feeling hot all over in no time at tall.
Walnuts
Walnuts are one of the less tempting types of nut, but they’re full of omega-3 fatty acids which help maintain se.x hormone production.
Vanilla
Describing someone as “vanilla” tends to mean they’re unadventurous in the sack but this tasty little pod has been unfairly maligned as it turns out that vanilla actually stimulates nerves and increases se.xual sensation.
Garlic
A large dose of garlic is probably the last thing you’d eat on a date for fear of offending with your breath later in the evening, but it helps produce nitric oxide which promotes great blood flow. It’s basically natural Viagra! Basil too is said to be an aphrodisiac, so make some fresh pesto if you’re cooking dinner and wait for sparks to fly.
Avocado
Apart from strongly resembling a woman’s body in shape, avocados help produce testosterone, progesterone and estrogen which help stimulate se.xual responses in females.
Coconut water
Coconut water is a metabolism booster which increases blood flow and gets your body feeling alive. An added benefit is that it contains a high does of vitamin C so you’ll be feeling se.xy and healthy.
Watermelon
Watermelon contains a phytonutrient called citrulline which gives you a k!ck of nitric oxide to speed up circulation and gets you aroused qu!cker. Try a watermelon martini as a nightcap before you head home.
Red wine
Red wine contains resveratrol which improves circulation and literally warms you up. Tread carefully with alcohol though as too much will turn you (and probably your date!) off pretty qu!ckly.
Blueberries
Our favourite little berry is chock full of antioxidants which protect the lining of your blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow and therefore higher genital stimulation.
Cucumber
It’s an unlikely candidate (apart from the obvious shape) but the Smell and Taste Research Foundation found that the smell of cucumber arouses women. All the more reason to st!ck with that diet!
