Your Old Droog releases the new SadhuGold-produced “Venture Capital” song. Listen, buy the track.
Your Old Droog is someone who has intrigued fans ever since he burst onto the scene. Overall, this mostly has to do with voice. In case you haven’t noticed, he naturally sounds a bit like Nas. So much so that he had the world fooled about it back in 2014. Although, that is where the comparisons should begin and end. The artist has been able to carve out a huge fanbase for himself, and they are always eager to listen to his latest releases. Moreover, YOD has provided fans with a whole lot of music over the years.
In the summer of 2022, Your Old Droog gave us a project called Yodney Dangerfield. Additionally, he came through with EPs like The Shining and The Yodfather. Subsequently, he has been coming through with some singles here and there. For instance, last week he dropped a track called “Pronouns.” Just a few days later, he is back with a song called “Venture Capital.” The cover art for the project is immediately eye-catching as we see Vince Carter with his arm all the way in a basketball hoop. Of course, this harkens back to his infamous dunk from the early 2000s.
The use of Vince Carter on the cover makes sense when you consider how Your Old Droog references him in the first verse of the song. Musically, this song is great as we get some smooth production that has that summer vibe to it. Your Old Droog sounds great as well as he keeps a steady flow throughout. His bars are as sharp as ever, and fans will appreciate all of the wordplay here.
