Devon Again does not write songs about breaking up. She writes songs about the moment right before you pick up the phone anyway. The Los Angeles-based singer, born Devon Gatlin in Newport Beach, California, spent her childhood moving between her mom’s house and her dad’s, a shuffle that taught her how to land softly in unfamiliar rooms. She posted covers on YouTube as a teenager, dropped her debut EP “fractures” in 2021, and caught the attention of Interscope Records, which released her 2023 project “How To Delete A Post.” Her music sits in the pocket where bedroom pop meets alt-R&B, full of whispered confessions and beats that never rush. She has written for other artists, opened shows for Olivia Rodrigo and Claire Rosinkranz, and built a following that listens to her lyrics like they are reading their own diary.

Now, on June 2, 2026, Devon Again releases “this time it’s different.” The track runs two minutes. Jon Buscema produces, wrapping her voice in a soft synth pad and a kick drum that lands like a heartbeat. The song is the first preview of her upcoming EP, “you call it madness,” set for a June 2026 release via Amusement Records / Interscope Records. The track is a meditation on trying again with someone you have already failed. She does not pretend the past did not happen. She does not promise perfection. She offers awareness instead.
