Doechii and SZA release a new collaborative single titled “girl, get up.” The song arrived in late December via Top Dawg Entertainment and Capitol Records. Producer Jay Versace crafted the instrumental, which incorporates a sample from the Neptunes’ work on the Clipse and Birdman record “What Happened To That Boy?”.

This three-minute track concludes Doechii’s Swamp Sessions series. The Florida rapper, known for her versatile flow and conceptual visuals, previously collaborated with SZA on the remix for her single “Persuasive.” Doechii’s rise moved from a dedicated online following to mainstream recognition after signing with Top Dawg Entertainment. Her mixtape track “Anxiety” achieved top-ten chart status earlier in the year. SZA, the Missouri-born singer and songwriter, released her Grammy-winning album “SOS” which generated multiple number-one singles.

Her history of selective features makes this collaboration a notable event. The joint release signals continued creative alignment between the two labelmates and follows their live performance together at the Camp Flog Gnaw carnival.
