A cover of the iconic pop-punk song “Celebrity Skin” by Hole, Doja Cat teams up with prolific pop-punk producers Travis Barker and Dark Waves for this track. First revealed in an Instagram Live on February 9, 2022, the song was featured in Taco Bell’s Super Bowl commercial.

A stylistic departure from Doja Cat’s usual style of pop-inflected R&B/hip-hop, her transition to pop punk on the song is a significant and monumental culture shift, as women and people of color have been erased from rock for decades and only recently women of color have got exposure in the genre of rock again, through artists such as Willow Smith.
