The American regional Mexican band Grupo Frontera closes its new EP with a paradox. The track titled “Pary” sits at the end of the six-song “Con dolor” collection, arriving May 28, 2026, as the first release on the band’s newly launched indie label, BorderTown Records. The song runs three minutes and was produced by longtime collaborator and hitmaker Edgar Barrera, who also receives a songwriting credit alongside Rios. While the project revisits the norteño-cumbia roots that first connected the Texas ensemble with audiences around the world, “Pary” leans into the bouncier end of that spectrum, channeling the dance-floor energy of classics like Hechizeros Band’s “El Sonidito.”
The official music video, filmed in the band’s hometown of McAllen, Texas, captures that contradiction. The visual opens on a lowrider cruising through neon-lit streets, then cuts to a house party where the group delivers its rhythmic chant. No dramatic plot interrupts the frame. Instead, the camera holds on the faces of partygoers lost in the beat, a visual match for a song that sounds like a celebration but reads like a resignation. Grupo Frontera first teased the video with a short clip days before the release. The full visual landed on May 28, the same day the EP dropped, and features the band’s full lineup: Adelaido “Payo” Solís III on lead vocals, Alberto Acosta on guitar, Juan Javier Cantú on accordion, Carlos Guerrero on drums, and Julián Peña Jr. on congas.

The EP “Con dolor” (translation: “With Pain”) positions itself as a return to form. Following the group’s meteoric rise after their 2022 breakthrough “No Se Va,” the six-track effort balances the raw, emotional storytelling of their early sound with the polished production of their mainstream run. It includes previously released singles “Ojitos Bellos” and the Alejandro Fernández collaboration “Cada Vez Me Gusta Más.” The opener “Bye” leans into nostalgic frustration. The swaying “Cuéntame” tries to lure back a former lover. The peppier “Te Voy A Conquistar” takes a more optimistic view. But “Pary” closes the project on a different note. It is deceptively upbeat, built for the club, but Apple Music notes that “you can practically hear the tears dripping down” the track. It is a regional Mexican anthem for the hardworking, the lovesick, and anyone who has ever chased someone who only chases the night.
