Chocolate City rapper Ice Prince trials the path his label-mate Victoria Kimani followed with her song “Emotions” for the #BringBackOurGirls campaign as he enlists Sammy Gyang and DaBeatFreakz to produce and arrange a moving piece titled “Tears For Naija”.
On the backdrop of the growing insurgency plaguing Nigeria in recent years, and the ongoing international grief centered around the abduction of over 200 girls from their schools in Chibok, Borno State Nigeria, Ice Prince has released a new song “Tears For Naija” inspired by the events.
As a young man who grew up in Jos, Nigeria, Ice Prince says he has seen what war, strife, and insecurity can do to the minds and emotions of people. ‘I wish there was more to be done, but now I can only offer prayers and support to the families of all those who have been affected by the acts of terrorism and ethnic violence.‘
Audu Maikori, CEO of Chocolate City Group said, ‘We realized that this was an emotional project for Ice Prince, an orphan who has himself lost friends and loved ones to violence in the Nigeria and totally support it‘.
