Canadian singer Jessie Reyez does not write songs about hypothetical heartbreak. The 34-year-old Toronto artist, born Jessie Reyez in a Colombian-Canadian household, learned guitar on her own and traded a service industry job for open mic nights before she could afford a studio. Her 2016 single “Figures” earned 2x platinum certification from the RIAA. The 2018 album Being Human in Public cracked the Billboard 200. Her 2020 project Before Love Came to Kill Us spawned “Intruders” and a Jhené Aiko feature. In 2025, she released the sprawling 20-track PAID IN MEMORIES with guests including Ari Lennox, Big Sean, and Lil Wayne. She won six Juno Awards and a Latin Grammy. She wrote for Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, and Kehlani. She never stopped sounding like someone who has lived inside a late night.
“UR HEARTBEAT (WHO DO U THINK ABOUT AT 2AM?)” dropped on May 29, 2026, via FMLY / Island Records. It is the third single from her fourth studio album, A LITTLE VENGEANCE, due June 12. Steeped in a smooth, late-night R&B atmosphere, the track looks back on a past relationship with quiet longing—not for the pain, but for the intimacy that once grounded everything. “I don’t miss all the lying, but I miss your heartbeat,” she sings over soft, hypnotic production. The single follows two other previews from A LITTLE VENGEANCE: the sharp, rap-sung “N.Y.F.F.” and the Muni Long collaboration “AIN’T U TIRED?”.
