London-born and New York-based artist Lila Drew made a promise to herself at the end of a long summer. She stockpiled new material over a year and a half, working with producer Sachi DiSerafino (Lorde, Dijon), and emerged with “Same Old Song.” The track arrived in May 2026 via Capitol Records and serves as the first glimpse into a new creative chapter. Lila Drew, who is currently completing a degree in American Studies at Yale University, wrote the song after experiencing heartbreak for the first time.

“It was difficult to admit that out loud,” she says. “I think the song has this really honest shamefulness about it that I’ve come to love.” The production blends confessional piano with hook-filled alt rock, drawing on inspirations ranging from The Velvet Underground to Bonnie Raitt. The official music video, directed by Stefan Kohli, delivers a stark visual to match the song’s raw emotional center.
