BNXN and Fola team up on “Very Soon,” a new soulful Afrobeats single produced by Beatz Vampire. The track, released under BNXN’s own To Your Ears (T.Y.E) Entertainment in partnership with EMPIRE, previews the Nigerian star’s forthcoming album Captain. It blends Afrobeats’ infectious rhythms with contemporary R&B undertones as both vocalists deliver introspective lyrics about patience and devotion in love.
Fola brings a complementary energy to “Very Soon,” his smooth vocals meshing with BNXN’s style. The singer first made waves with his 2024 hit “Alone,” which reached No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria, and was then unveiled as the first signee to Bella Shmurda’s Dangbana Republik label. On this track his emotive delivery deepens the song’s emotional tone, building on the chemistry hinted in his earlier remix with BNXN.
BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has a track record of genre-defining releases. He first broke out in 2019 with “Spiritual” (featuring Zlatan), and his debut album Sincerely, Benson (2023) confirmed his knack for fusing raw emotion with dance-friendly grooves. To date he has amassed over 2.1 billion career streams and collaborated with international stars like Wizkid and Burna Boy, earning recognition as one of modern Afrobeats’ leading voices. In 2021 he parted from Burna Boy’s Spaceship Records to release music under his own To Your Ears (T.Y.E) imprint, underscoring his role as both artist and label head.
Released via T.Y.E/EMPIRE, “Very Soon” is available now on all streaming platforms. It’s the latest in a series of strategic singles BNXN has issued to build anticipation for Captain. The song’s blend of heartfelt R&B flourishes and melodic Afrobeats underscores BNXN’s evolving artistry, and it sets the stage for his sophomore album, due in early July of two thousand twenty-five. The collaboration cements both artists’ status – a genre-pushing Afro-fusion star and a rising Dangbana Republik talent – while delivering a track with broad crossover appeal.
