The first verse reaches toward smoke signals she cannot see, ancient codes she longs to translate into a new melody. The request “Show me how to” cuts off unfinished, a deliberate gap that leaves the listener leaning in. The chorus returns with the same invitation: teach her to talk on the hill.

The second verse shifts to stillness. “I’ll sit so quietly so you can teach me how.” The repetition lands as a vow, not a filler.
