Pharrell Williams, the Virginia Beach native who has been a standout in the hip-hop scene for over a decade, is back in the studio. Known for his unique approach to music and his ability to challenge his collaborators, Williams has been a constant presence in the industry, despite not releasing an album in nearly 10 years.

However, that’s about to change. A new project, titled ‘Phriends, Vol. 1’, is listed on his Genius page, hinting at a release sometime next year. The project has already seen the release of two singles. The first, “Cash In Cash Out”, a collaboration with 21 Savage and Tyler, The Creator, dropped in June 2022. The second, “Down In Atlanta” with Travis Scott, followed in November 2022.

Now, Williams has released the third promotional cut from the project, “Airplane Tickets”, featuring Swae Lee and Rauw Alejandro. This track diverges from the vibe of the previous two, taking a more summery and tropical direction, a nod to Rauw’s Puerto Rican roots. “Airplane Tickets” offers a danceable rhythm, making it the perfect kick-back song for some laid-back background music.

With the premiere of the music video for “Airplane Tickets”, anticipation for ‘Phriends, Vol. 1’ continues to build. As fans eagerly await the full project, they can enjoy the distinct sounds of Pharrell Williams, Swae Lee, and Rauw Alejandro taking flight together.
