Nigerian producer, singer, and songwriter Pheelz has spent over a decade shaping the sound of Afrobeats from behind the boards. Born Phillip Kayode Moses in Lagos on June 5, 1994, he first broke through as a teenager in 2011, cutting his teeth in I. D. Cabasa’s Coded Tunes. He went on to produce Olamide’s entire Baddest Guy Ever Liveth album. His touch landed on records for Davido, Usher, Fireboy DML, and Tiwa Savage long before he stepped to the mic himself. In 2022, he did step up. “Finesse” with BNXN became a viral smash, racking up tens of millions of streams and announcing Pheelz as a frontman, not a ghost. Now, on May 22, 2026, he returns with “I’m Ok,” the lead single from his forthcoming EP A Rii Set (set for June 5 release).

The track runs three minutes. Pheelz produces it himself. He also enlists Tiwa Savage, the Nigerian vocal titan and “Queen of Afrobeats” who has been rewriting the rulebook since her 2013 self-titled debut. Born Tiwatope Omolara Savage in Lagos on February 5, 1980, she moved to London at eleven, sang backup for George Michael and Mary J. Blige at sixteen, and earned a master’s in music business at Berklee College of Music. Her 2018 album Sugarcane brought her global acclaim. She has since stacked awards and collaborated with Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Brandy. She has also worked with Pheelz multiple times, most notably on her 2020 track “Celia’s Song.” A third artist, Rii, also appears on “I’m Ok.” Rii is a Nigerian singer and rising name with ties to Pheelz’s Rii Collective label.

Pheelz describes the song as a conversation about emotional survival. The production stays minimal. Soft guitar plucks and a quiet drum pattern leave room for the vocals. He sings in a mix of English and Yoruba, his voice calm but frayed at the edges. He catalogues stress, confusion, and financial pressure. Then he pulls back and says he is okay anyway. Tiwa Savage enters in the second half. She matches his tone, her delivery warm and wise. She sings about gratitude, about waking up alive, about leaning on God when nothing else moves. The result is not a party track. It is a morning-after track, the kind of song you play when the silence gets too loud.

The official music video, streaming on YouTube, opens with a CCTV-style shot of the Nigerian flag. Pheelz and Tiwa Savage trade verses in a dim, cozy living room. A brief scene with Tiwa Savage strapped to a lie detector sparks fan debate, but the overall visual stays grounded. The focus is the faces, the voices, the small moments of relief. “I’m Ok” is the lead single from A Rii Set, which Pheelz calls his “most collaborative EP to date.” The project is due June 5.
