“Acróstico” is the first single that Shakira has released solo since 2014, after having published “Te Felicito” and “Monotonía”, songs that caused a great media stir due to their theme related to the breakup of the singer with Gerard Piqué. The song consists of a piano ballad dedicated to his children, Milan and Sasha.
An “acróstico” is a poetic composition in which the initial, middle or final letters of each verse or sentence are read vertically and form a word.
In this case, the acróstico is found in the initial letters of the verses, and when read vertically, the names of Shakira’s children are formed in each of them: “Milán” in the first and “Sasha” in the second.
