Dancehall, a genre known for its intoxicating rhythms, is gaining popularity by the day. The music world is currently buzzing with the beef between two powerhouses, Stefflon Don and Jada Kingdom. The UK native, Stefflon Don, has fired the first shot with her track, “Dat A Dat,” which appears to be a diss piece against Jada Kingdom. Both of these diss tracks are exclusively available on YouTube and are gaining significant online traction.
A report from Clash provides some insight into why Stefflon Don decided to target Jada Kingdom. It seems that the root of the issue lies in their shared history with Burna Boy. Jada and Burna were briefly involved during the summer of last year, and Stefflon Don is Burna’s ex. However, Jada is currently in a relationship with rapper Pardison Fontaine, Megan Thee Stallion’s ex.
Despite both Jada and Stefflon being mostly separated from Burna, the reason for their beef remains unclear. Jada responded to “Dat A Dat” about 12 hours later with her own track, “London Bed.” Both songs were produced by industry heavyweights, with Rvssian working with Don and Byron Messiah pairing with Jada.
As this situation continues to unfold, we’ll be sure to provide updates. In the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts on this brand-new single and diss track, “Dat A Dat,” by Stefflon Don. Who do you think had the better song out of the two and why? Do you think this beef has something to do with their ex-boyfriend Burna Boy? If not, what do you think the origin of this is? Whose music do you listen to more often? We’re eager to hear your take on all of this.
