Australian electronic music group The Avalanches and UK producer Jamie xx have a history of creative chemistry. They first collaborated on the track “All You Children” from Jamie xx’s 2024 album In Waves. Now, they join forces again on “Every Single Weekend,” a dance floor-ready bubbler dosed in summer sunshine. The track originally surfaced as a stripped-down interlude on In Waves and has now been fully realized as a single. It’s a celebration of freedom, an anthem for anyone ready to forget the workweek and live for the weekend. “We’ve loved collaborating with Jamie xx over the years – his In Colour album reignited our passion for sampling,” The Avalanches say. “This track is all about letting go, forgetting the 9-5 grind and enjoying every single weekend”.
For The Avalanches, the song follows their May 2026 single “Together” and continues the rollout of their first album since 2020. The group formed in Melbourne, Australia, in 1997 and is comprised of Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi, and Andrew Szekeres. Their 2000 debut album Since I Left You is widely considered a landmark in electronic music, earning four ARIA Awards and eventual platinum certification in Australia. The group has also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic Album.
