Alt-pop band TWIN XL releases their new track “Upgrade” (Ft. DREAMERS) today via The Orchard. The track is available to purchase and stream, HERE.
“To me, ‘Upgrade’ is the ultimate heartbreak song but with a dark twist. It’s about that moment when you realize that someone has complete power over you and no matter what they do you can’t help but to crawl right back. Sometimes all you can do is find the beauty and humour within the destruction,” states Twin XL frontman Cameron Walker.
DREAMERS frontman, Nick Wold, adds, “Not everyone’s love life is a perfect Hallmark card, so this Valentine’s Day season, me and the brothers Twin XL are dropping a breakup song. It’s called ‘UPGRADE,‘ and it’s dedicated to everyone who’s ever been unhappy in love. Love on, friends.”
“Upgrade” follows the release of the band’s recent radio single, “Slow Heart”, which was included in the latest NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL MUSIC!, VOL. 78 compilation among artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd. Stream and purchase “Slow Heart”, which premiered this past March on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation show Advanced Placement and was also featured on Spotify’s “The New ALT” playlist and Apple Music’s “New in Alternative” and “Breaking Alternative” playlists, HERE. “Slow Heart” follows the release of “Lemonade”, “Problematic”, “Melt” and most recently “Lonely”, a collaboration track featuring Little Hurt and Rad Horror. Stay up-to-date on TWIN XL’s latest announcements and new music by following the band on socials (listed below).
The hypnotic hybrid of Los Angeles-based alt-pop band TWIN XL had its breakout in 2019 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut EP How To Talk To Strangers featuring the catchy hit single “Good,” which peaked at #19 at alternative radio and spent 5 weeks on Billboard’s Top Alternative Songs Chart peaking at #24. Described by NYLON as “very, very good,” and by MTV News as “a Certified Bop™,” the single peaked at #1 on Spotify’s top alternative music playlist The New Alt and was featured on Out Now. Along the way, the band has toured alongside the likes of The Fitz and the Tantrums, lovelytheband, The Maine, The Mowgli’s, Jukebox The Ghost, and IDon’t Know How But They Found Me and scored high-profile syncs on FOX’s The Resident, Hulu’s Light As A Feather, and MTV’s Ex On The Beach, to name a few.

[Verse 1]
She said she need an upgrade
Got some places to go
She need her own space
To bring a new one home
And I said “Okay, do whatever you want”
Do whatever you want
Yeah yeah
Don’t need to let go
So I asked her “How come?”
She said “I said so”
Yeah, she hit and she run
Just like a klepto
She takes what she wants
Yeah she takes what she wants
Yeah yeah
[Pre-Chorus]
I watch my world burn down
Light up my backyard
Blow smoke bow out
I know what you are
[Chorus]
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna steal it
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna feel it
Rip it out of my chest
In the palm of your hand
Bleeding out on your dress
Until I’m crying for more
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna steal it
[Verse 2: DREAMERS]
I need an upgrade
I hit another new low
Can’t shake this headache
It even hurts to my toes
You were my favorite mistake
That’s the way it goes
That’s the way it goes, oh yeah
[Pre-Chorus: DREAMERS]
I watch my world burn down
Light up my backyard
Blow smoke bow out
I know what you are
[Chorus]
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna steal it
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna feel it
Rip it out of my chest
In the palm of your hand
Bleeding out on your dress
Until I’m crying for more
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna steal it
You just wanna steal it
[Chorus]
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna steal it
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna feel it
Rip it out of my chest
In the palm of your hand
Bleeding out on your dress until I’m crying for more
You don’t really want my heart
No, you just wanna steal it
(You just wanna steal it)
You just wanna steal it
(You just wanna steal it)
You just wanna steal it
