South African producer and artist TxC joins forces with Nigerian megastar Davido for a major pan-African release. The new single “Nakupenda” also features vocal contributions from South Africa’s Scotts Maphuma and Shoday, with notable verses from Nigeria’s Zlatan and Al Xapo. The track is produced by D3an, Smeez, and TxC. This collaboration represents a strategic fusion of the Nigerian Afrobeats and South African amapiano scenes, two of the continent’s most dominant musical exports. Davido, a foundational figure in modern Afrobeats with global awards and record-breaking streams, brings his signature vocal style to the amapiano rhythm. TxC, known for his influential production work within the South African house and amapiano circuit, provides the instrumental backbone. The inclusion of Zlatan, the Nigerian artist who popularized the Zanku sound, and amapiano vocalist Scotts Maphuma, creates a cross-continental dialogue. The single is released under TXC Enterprises through a license to Atlanta-based label LVRN Records, a company known for amplifying African talent internationally. This move signals a continued push for African music’s commercial and critical reach in global markets.
