Veeze, born Karon Vantrese Malcolm in 1996, grew up on Detroit’s west side and started rapping in 2017. His 2019 debut mixtape Navy Wavy introduced his off-kilter, stream-of-consciousness style. The 2020 viral hit “Law ‘N’ Order” brought wider attention, and a key spot on Lil Yachty’s 2021 album Michigan Boy Boat helped him break out of the underground. His 2023 debut album Ganger landed at number 97 on the Billboard 200 and earned a spot on Stereogum’s list of the best rap albums of the year. Since then, he has opened for Travis Scott on the Circus Maximus Tour and launched his own label imprint, Navy Wavy, through a partnership with Warner Records. Y’all Won serves as a stopgap mixtape, a reward for fans who have been pressing him for new material while he continues work on his sophomore album, Worst Tape.
