Akas comes back strong with a single that bears all the trappings to become the 2016 pop song of the year. Titled ‘Alaye’, the single is a reflection of Akas’es raw ambition to get rich off making beautiful music, bragging about his new team and label (House of Sherucchi Incorporated) and a sober prayer request to God so as not to fall off the band wagon.
Delivered over a banging beat produced by Jay Sleek and laced with a catchy hybrid hook, ‘Alaye’ is playful but delivered well enough to leave a lasting impression of Akas’s talent.
The video shot by Aje Films at various spots in Lagos and styled by Angel is just the perfect fit for the single: monochrome scenes, beautifully clad girls twerking happily away and some street vibes to capture the songs’ mood – Akas def just lit summer up!
