Watch the official music video for Chike’s new “Pity My Soul” music featuring SYEMCA, produced by DeeYasso. Directed by Kenzart.
Chike does not run from the noise. The Nigerian singer and actor, born Chike-Ezekpeazu Osebuka in Onitsha, Anambra State, built a career on vulnerability. A Project Fame West Africa finalist and a top-six contender on the first season of The Voice Nigeria, Chike stepped out as a solo act when the industry still expected him to join a group. His 2020 debut album Boo of the Booless announced a singular voice. The follow-up The Brother’s Keeper deepened his reputation for emotional precision. Both albums drew on his training in computer engineering at Covenant University and his background as a writer who sketches scenes before he sets them to melody. On “Pity My Soul,” Chike pulls his older brother into the frame. SYEMCA, born Chukwuemeka Chike-Ezekpeazu, studies theatre arts at Redeemer’s University and placed second on the second season of The Voice Nigeria. Their 2023 track “Love Egbugomo” went viral. “Pity My Soul” marks their reunion.
DeeYasso produced the track. The arrangement stays lean, a mid-tempo blend of Afropop, R&B, and highlife that leaves the vocals exposed. The music video, directed by Kenzart, arrives as the song’s primary visual companion. The clip follows Chike through empty rooms and quiet streets, his face half-lit, his voice carrying the weight of a man who has stopped pretending. The song landed in late May 2026 via Brothers Records / ONErpm. No standalone making-of footage exists; the official music video serves as the only visual narrative.
