On the road to victory, he was seeded #2 and given a R1 bye, defeated Manuel Guinard in straight sets (R2, 6-3 6-3), faced tough resistance in the quarterfinals vs. Great Britain’s Daniel Evans but eventually edged out the world no. 26 in 2hrs 42min (6-4, 6-7, 2,6), a semifinals straight set win against Richard Gasquet, albeit in two tiebreaks (6-7 6-7) and in the final, defeating American youngster, Sebastian Korda in straight sets 6-3 6-4.
This takes him to 8 wins in 10 days while dropping just 2 sets in 2 tournaments and further strengthens his spot for the ATP finals, ahead of Taylor Fritz, and Hurkacz Hubert.
