Missy Elliott took time out of her Sunday to remember a fallen icon and a dear friend from her past.
Sunday marks the 18th anniversary of ‘Princess of R&B’ Aaliyah’s untimely death when she was the victim of a plane crash in the Bahamas.
Elliott, who is back on the music scene in a big way this year, tweeted a tribute to the fallen singer with a photo of Aaliyah and a message of solace.
‘Aaliyah it’s been 18 years now but your STYLE & MUSIC still continues to IMPACT all the generations behind you!’ Elliott, 48, tweeted.
‘May you rest In paradise in PEACE,’ she continued, with several emojis.
‘You will NEVER be forgotten so MANY LOVE you Babygirl,’ she later added.
‘WE ALL MISS YOU! ️ ️’
