The 2015 edition of Billboard’s annual report on “Music’s Top Earners” has just dropped. Taylor Swift holds the very top spot with $73.5 million made in total 2015 revenue, with most of that ($61.7 million) coming from her sold-out tours.
Meanwhile, J. Cole reigned in the year of 2015 as rap’s highest-earning artist on the list. When we speak about rappers and R&B acts, J. Cole took the top honors with $8.8 million earned in 2015, earning him #28 on the list. The Weeknd is a close second at $8.6 million, while Drake earned $7.4 million last year.
Drake lands at #32 on the list, but was the #1 streaming artist of last year with 2.9 billion plays. He sold 1.7 million albums, including his shares of What a Time to Be Alive.
Nicki Minaj, like Cole, made her money through touring, with $3.5 million from “The Pinkprint Tour” helping give her an earnings of $6.3 million and a #39 spot on the list.
