  1. Harry Styles – As It Was

The song, released on 1 April 2022, received widespread critical acclaim, which isn’t surprising as Harry Styles is a fantastic singer and songwriter. The music has received a good rating from critics, with some calling it ‘one of his best writing.

It also earned the Guinness World Records title for the most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours by a male artist and broke the Apple Music streaming record for most first-day streams for a 2022 release, amongst other well-deserved accolades.

  1. Aitch ft Ashanti – Baby

The song, released on ten March 2022, received a lot of attention because it sampled Ashanti’s song ‘Rock wit U [Aww Baby] from 2003 hence why she was credited.  Aitch is a British rapper who has dropped hits in the past, and this was not an exception. The song is a meaningful love song for all the people who need love right now and was inspired by the relationship around the

artist.

 

  1. Dave – Starlight

Starlight, as released on 3 March 2022, entered the UK Singles Chart a week later at number 1, and It also debuted at number 35 on the singles Sales Chart Top 100, thus becoming Dave’s second number 1 single in the UK after his song ‘Funky Friday’ which was released in 2018.

 

  1. Cat Burns – Go

Although this song was released as a single on 31 July 2020, the song rose to popularity in early 2022, eventually peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart. According to Burns, the song is about leaving a situation without fighting and is often described as a post-breakup anthem.

 

  1. Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran – Peru

Peru is a song originally by Nigerian artist Fireboy DML. The song gained widespread recognition, and Ed Sheeran decided to jump on it as a remix. Peru peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart. It has since peaked in different charts and is still a club banger till this very moment.
