“Afro singing sensation and diamond black boy (oh dear, I’m not sure if I got that correctly)… Wande Coal has come a mighty long way. Forget that he’s been doing some major undertaking of late, it still doesn’t change or take away the fact that he’s a game changer. Since his emergence on the music scene under the platform of now disbanded label, Mo’hits, he served us his nothing but pure genius with his afrocentric takes on music. Not only is he a gifted high tenor, he’s well-honed in the lyrical division with writer’s credit on several hits from Industry acts including Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Naeto-C and the Mo’hits turned Mavin artistes.

Today’s throwback will sample one of the tracks off his debut album Mushin 2 Mo’hits, released in 2009. As at the time when the slang ‘maga’ was introduced to our local vocabulary, Wande Coal decided to express some contrasting sentiments in the song Who Born The Maga. It has since then, remained one of our favourites from him. Press play and find out why!”
